MINEOLA — Police and prosecutors on Long Island say they've seized $25 million in counterfeit Nike sneakers and other trademark knockoffs. Two men linked to the operation have been arrested.
Police uncovered more than 20,000 pairs of counterfeit Nike sneakers. They have also found knockoff Duracell and Panasonic batteries, counterfeit baseball caps and fake Louis Vuitton handbags.
Police say search warrants were executed in Edison, N.J., Long Island City in Queens, and New Hyde Park on Long Island.
A six-month investigation led to the arrests. Authorities have not yet detailed the charges against the men.
